Responsibility for Creation as a Mission for the Church

During the Autumn Plenary Assembly of the German Bishops' Conference 2017, a study day on the topic of "Responsibility for Creation according to Laudato siʼ - The Environment and Integral Development as a Task of the Church" took place. After this study day, Recommendations for Action for the work in the German (Arch-)dioceses were developed, which were adopted at the Autumn Plenary Assembly 2018 and are now available as working papers. These working papers "Responsibility for Creation as a Mission for the Church" include ten concrete recommendations on ecology and sustainable development for practical use in the dioceses. In accordance with the mission expressed in Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato si', aspects of environmental protection and integral human development are combined. The Recommendations for Action relate to matters of pastoral care, diocesan administrative activities and socio-political commitment.
